If you know how to skate, ages 9-90, you can be trained by Coach Katie to become a PA!

Some of the benefits of becoming a PA are:

  • Credits towards your skating fees
  • Volunteer experience for high school credits
  • Teaching experience
  • Giving back to your skating community
  • Making new friends and helping others
  • Hugs and smiles of gratitude.

You will notice a change to Volunteering/Fundraising this year, to implement and track Volunteering/Fundraising efforts within Uplifter, what used to be called ‘blocks’ are now ‘credits’.

*More information to follow in September outlining opportunities to earn credits. VFSC also added the option of a Payment in Lieu of Volunteering/Fundraising but we still encourage those to participate if interested.

Summary of the Volunteer/Fundraising Policy

Skaters registered in StarSkate, and Adult & Teen Plus are required to add a mandatory pending volunteer buyout installment fee $150 *15 credits* per Skater. This fee will then be removed from the invoice upon completion of the members/volunteer’s requirements. The installment will have no initial amount and if the member/skater has NOT fulfilled the volunteer requirements ~Sept 15, 2025-June 19 2026~ VFSC will receive the

Installment DUE on June 19, 2026.

VFSC is committed to providing ample and diverse opportunities to our members to earn Volunteer/Fundraising Credits

Alternatively, VFSC offers the ability to pay money rather than volunteer. Please add this product when you register skaters in FALL 2025

**fineprint-credits will be listed on the volunteer signup page and credits received will be logged in your Uplifter acct The value of each volunteer/fundraiser/event role is assigned by the board or committee chair.  Where the volunteer is not in the system, the hours will be logged to the skater’s account.  Volunteer hours cannot be carried over into subsequent year(s) and are non-transferable.  There will be no partial option for hours or payment, 15 credits are met, or the payment will be applied.
Current Board Members are exempt.
